Section A · How Alogo Started

From the show ring to equine wellness.

Chapter 01

Every horse tells you something.

Children’s hunter. Fox hunter. Local and rated shows. But what stayed with Katie wasn’t the ribbons — it was learning how horses move, compensate, and carry so much without ever being able to say where it hurts.

— if you know how to listen.

Katie’s connection to horses started long before Alogo existed. Growing up in the barn — riding, competing, learning — she built the kind of bond only horse people truly understand. As a teenager she showed extensively in the children’s hunter and fox hunter divisions, but what fascinated her most was the horse itself: how they move, communicate, and compensate.

That curiosity only deepened with time. She continued riding while studying equine movement, muscular health, and the way bodywork can help horses feel and perform at their best. She later graduated from Equissage International Inc. and MidWest Natural Healing for Animals, combining formal education with a lifelong hands-on understanding of horses and their care.

Today, Alogo is built around a simple philosophy: every horse deserves to feel comfortable in its body — whether it’s a performance athlete, a lesson horse, a pasture companion, or a senior needing a little extra support.

In 2025, Katie expanded her services to include MagnaWave PEMF therapy — a gentle, non-invasive modality to support recovery, relaxation, and overall wellness. Combined with massage, it creates a thoughtful approach focused on helping horses move and feel their best.

PEMF doesn't replace massage — and it absolutely doesn't replace your vet.

PEMF is wellness support — not a substitute for veterinary care.
Section C · The Process

The session, in four moments.

From the first text to the follow-up notes. Most owners ask the same questions in the same order — so it's laid out plainly here.

01

Contact

Text, call, or fill out the intake form. Goals, injuries, temperament, what's changed lately. PEMF clients also sign the consent. Confirmation comes back within the day — usually within the hour.

avg. response · 47 min.
02

Before the session

Clean, dry, calm horse. A flat patch of ground or a quiet stall. A helper is welcome but not required. If the morning forecast looks rough, a text comes early — the horse comes first.

no weather fee, ever.
03

After the session

Hand-walk, then turnout. Light work only that day. Most horses sleep deeply that night and move freer by morning. A recap text lands within the hour so you have everything in writing.

most regulars rebook on day-of.
04

Follow-up

Written notes within 24 hours. What we found, what we worked, what to watch for. A plan for the next visit — most regulars settle into a three-to-six-week cadence — plus a one-click rebook link.

notes go to your vet, too, if you'd like.
Feature · The Field

Section D · Letters to the Editor

Reviews from the field.

A small sample of what owners have actually said. Names real, photos available on request.

You can tell Katie loves her job — and the horses love her back. Watching Biscuit walk away looser, calmer, and just plain happier is reason enough.

Dawn E.Calabash, NC · Hunter/jumper · client since 2022

The MagnaWave session after a hard hunter week made a real difference. We came home, turned out, and he slept twelve hours like a foal.

Megan R.Wilmington, NC · Eventing · client since 2024

She's the only bodyworker we've used who actually takes notes and follows up. That alone is worth the appointment.

Hannah P.Shallotte, NC · Pleasure/trail · client since 2021

Highly recommend! Katie was on time, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. She taught me several things about equine anatomy and wellbeing that will help my boy in the long run. Katie explained where my horse was right and sore while working on him. She was patient with my horse as it was his first massage. It went great and he enjoyed it!

Katie is wonderful. She always makes my horses feel amazing after their massages! She truly listens to you and your horse to make sure that she is doing the best possible for the horse. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my horses!

I was a total massage skeptic. Not anymore!! I have seen so much improvement in my horses in the past 9 months since Katie started coming to our barn. Katie is very knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge — she’s definitely an expert in her field, always teaching us something on her monthly visits.
