Equissage Benefits

Helps to Prevent Injury by allowing the muscles to be flexible and elastic. Improves Circulation and muscle tone by allowing increased circulation and aid in time needed for recovery. Increases the range of motion by allowing the horse to no longer compensate for sore areas and move freely. Reduces stress, when muscles are rubbed there is a calming effect on the nervous system.

  • Equine massage improves muscle tone and elongates connective tissue. This results in an expanded range of motion—longer strides, faster speeds and increased endurance, all of which enhance the athletic capability of a horse. Massage also helps to prevent muscle atrophy during long periods of inactivity resulting from illness.
  • By increasing the flow of nutrient-rich blood to muscles, massage helps to speed up the healing process after an injury, reduces recovery time after competition or strenuous exercise, and flushes out toxins as well as excess fluids that have accumulated in muscle tissues. Massage also stimulates the lymphatic system, which is essential for fighting disease.
  • Equine massage is also credited with improving learning and training, which may be due to increased blood flow to the brain as well as the mental relaxation induced by the massage

About Us.

I’ve had a great passion for horses all my life. As a teenager I showed extensively in the children’s hunter and fox hunter divisions at local and rated shows. As an adult I’ve continued riding and learning more about the horse and how the horse’s body does the amazing things it does.

Like I’ve said, I’ve been around horses all my life. That’s why I decided to go into equine massage to help horses reach their full potential by helping to alleviate pain so they can perform better. I’m a graduate of Equissage International Inc. The Course work involved learning the muscles, their functions, and extensive on hand teaching of massage. I’m eager to show owners and riders the difference massage can make!
